True abundance comes not to those intent on securing wealth, but to those who are willing to share a life of apparent scarcity.
Those who seek well-being, who grasp for more than their share, will find life pinched and fearful. They will reap only the anxiety of needing more, and the the fear that someday it will all be taken away.
But those who live in ways that allow others to live as well, those who reach out in service to their brothers and sisters with confidence that God will meet their needs, they will find a life of plenty which transcends the economics of scarcity.
Surely, this is a conversion. For in this spiritual wisdom, the world’s logic is turned exactly upside down. Grasping brings less, and letting go brings more….
St. Paul people are reading excerpts written by Parker Palmer during the 40 days of Lent.
"Ultimately it is not we who interpret the text with its truth claims; it's the text that interprets us." ~Kae Evensen
