With a splash of water, the faith community celebrates God’s gift of baptism.
Baptism at St. Paul is for the smallest of babies, for children and teenagers, for adults who have yet to be baptized. St. Paul understands baptism less as an individual act of salvation and more as a sign of grace and faith within a worshiping community where one belongs and regularly participates. For this reason, St. Paul reserves the baptismal act in worship for members of the congregation.
In keeping with our deep sense of baptismal faith, St. Paul worship includes Baptismal Sundays each month. On these Sundays, baptisms for member families may be scheduled at any of the three morning services: 8:00, 9:20, and 11:45 a.m. (11:00 in the summer).
In addition to these Sunday-morning dates, St. Paul members may also schedule baptisms during most Saturday evening services at 5:30 p.m. We do try to avoid scheduling baptisms on the first Saturday of the month, when the 5:30 worship service is followed by a healing liturgy.
