Global justice connections

The Book Corner is committed to stocking gifts and products that provide fair income for the world’s poor.

Taste of justice

Gourmet coffee, tea, and chocolate are provided through Lutheran World Relief’s Fair Trade Coffee Project. Your purchases can help small-scale coffee farmers survive, because more of the money you spend reaches the farmers who actually grow these products.

Fairly-traded gifts

Fairly-traded handicrafts from around the world come to us through three networks of artisans:

Women’s self-sufficiency
Tanzania connection

Our missionaries in Tanzania, Todd & Lori Byerly, supply the Book Corner with lovely carved and crafted items directly from Africa. Proceeds benefit this ELCA mission.

Life and faith

Other vendors provide distinctive gift items that are expressive of a life of faith:

  • Brass wall crosses from Creator Mundi
  • Fine jewelry from Minnesota artist Deirdre Olson
  • Art on consignment from local artists
  • CDs from Lutheran college choirs
Book Corner hours
  • Sunday mornings
  • Wednesdays during the school year, 5:30-7 p.m.

"Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, ... For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life." ~St. Francis of Assisi
