The Book Corner includes current and classic Christian books of enduring significance. You’ll also find home devotional materials, Bibles, and scriptural resources. Helpful books focus on Lutheranism, spirituality, prayer, family life, and life’s circumstances. Vibrant children’s books and adult fiction abound. All are carefully selected by St. Paul pastors, staff, and avid St. Paul readers.

The Book Corner’s mission is to get people reading great books that inspire faith. A partner in this venture is Faithful Readers, St. Paul’s literature discussion group. These book-lovers provide our own “Oprah’s list” of reading excellence, especially fiction books and short stories. You’ll find Faithful Readers selections shelved together.
All St. Paul Reads is encouragement for all to read and talk about a single book title in the same year. The selection for All St. Paul Reads, 2008-09, is Three Cups of Tea, the riveting book that traces Greg Mortenson’s work building schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. The best-selling book is subtitled One Man’s Mission to Fight Terrorism and Build Nations…One School at a Time.
All St. Paul Reads, now in its sixth year, is encouragement for all to read and talk about a single title in the same year. The Book Corner sponsors this movement in community, reading, and faith.
Soup’s-on Gathering: Come discuss “Three Cups of Tea” on Thursday, Feb. 5, 6-7:30 p.m. in the Commons. We plug in crockpots of steaming hospitality. Katie Hanson, from Augustana College’s English faculty, steps in to spark lively conversation.
