On Jan. 12, 2010, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake rocked Haiti. About 3 million lives, one-third of the population, are affected. Your help is needed today to bring immediate relief and continued hope for our brothers and sisters in Haiti.
The global community is coming to the aid of this poor island country. The people of St. Paul are doing our part.
Our prayers are with the people of Haiti, and their families and friends throughout the world.
In Lent 2010, our special Lenten offerings were earmarked for Haiti through the good work of Lutheran World Relief. It’s an A+ global organization. To date, St. Paul people have given over $7,200 in offerings earmarked for the ELCA and Lutheran World Relief.
Lutheran organizations have a strong history of effective response to people in need. During January, St. Paul encouraged giving to the ELCA International Disaster Response.
As of May, ELCA Disaster Response has received $10.5 million for relief work in Haiti.
