'Acting with Love for the World'

Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly.
— From 1 Corinthians 13

ACTING WITH LOVE FOR THE WORLD

Acting with Love for the World is the new St. Paul capital campaign to tackle the debt on our church building and to step up for kids in our neighborhood.

Acting with Love now has its own section of the website, under construction. Watch videos. Listen to music. Learn about the challenges. Check it out>>

The campaign is now underway — with creativity and commitment. Every person of this St. Paul community of faith will be invited to make a three-year financial pledge this fall.

About 200 people, serving in a network of teams, are hatching prayer ideas, videos, and more. In worship Nov. 8 & 9, we’ll dedicate our pledges for this important all-congregation venture.

Prayer Walks in October

People of all ages are invited to walk and pray in the St. Paul neighborhood on these lovely October days.

You can lace up your walking shoes and encounter the neighborhood with intention and prayer. You can create your own prayerful walking experience on your own home block too. If you’re unable to walk, include prayers for the neighborhood in your daily practice.

Video testimonies

In worship this fall, get in on a weekly series of meaningful video interviews — with people you know, or will want to know. They share words of faith with you.

These videos are now posted on our website — along with the song, Fill Our Hearts, written and recorded by Bill Campbell for this Acting with Love season.

Commitment to Central-City Kids

The seeds have been planted for a significant partnership with two neighborhood schools closest to our church.

Through an enduring commitment to the central city of Davenport, the people of St. Paul are being called on to invest our resources — financial and physical — in positive mentoring relationships with the kids of Madison Elementary and J.B. Young Intermediate Schools.

All types of people with all types of skills will be involved with neighborhood kids in positive ways. Mentoring. Practical life skills like nutrition and home repair. School teams and intramurals. Field trips. Technology training. Music, dance, and art. Let your imagination fly.
