Vibrant St. Paul worship happens in the context of a stunning new sanctuary, a brand new 44-rank, two manual, tracker Bigelow organ, and a spirited congregation.

The successful candidate for this position must be an outstanding organist possessing deep worship planning skills and a strong sense of Lutheran liturgical practice.

The director will develop and lead the entire music program in coordination with the rest of the music staff.

Director of Youth Ministries

St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport, Iowa, seeks an energetic person of faith, integrity, and love of youth for a full-time position as director of youth ministries.

St. Paul is an ELCA (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) congregation with 3100 baptized members. We have four full-time pastors, an associate in ministry, and a professional staff team that includes director of music ministries, preschool and kids learning administrator, children and family life coordinator, business manager, building supervisor, along with a highly qualified office and building support staff.

This key staff person will plan and implement programs for middle and high school youth. This person will lead programs that enthusiastically involve children and youth in Christ-centered fellowship, outreach, learning, and fun. He or she will also work with pastors and the director of faith formation in implementing the Confirmation program.

The best candidate will delight in relating to children and youth, especially 7th – 12th graders; will demonstrate excellent leadership skills that draw both youth and adults into the programs; will possess strong organizational and communication skills, including the use of technology; understands budgets, and will have earned minimally a bachelor’s degree. Musical skills are desirable, but not required.
