The congregation of St. Paul invites you for weekend worship in the new sanctuary. Services are Sundays at 8:00, 9:20, and 11:45 a.m.; and Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. Be part of inspiring worship in the new sanctuary, with hospitality in lovely adjacent spaces and in the congregational bookstore.
Local artisans have crafted the liturgical furnishings specially designed for the new St. Paul worship center: the baptismal font, the pulpit, the altar table, and the large bronze cross.
The scope of the construction project includes the new sanctuary, the renovation of the current sanctuary into a chapel, and adjacent welcoming areas. The project incorporates 21st-century expectations and standards for hospitality, technology, safety, and accessibility.
The new sanctuary, with its soaring cross atop the exterior tower, stands as a powerful symbol of God’s grace in the center of the city. A new pipe organ is now being installed.
Eyes naturally drift UP as people walk into the new sanctuary. The space is artfully designed to inspire awe and praise to God. Psalm 121 comes to mind.
The 34-foot-tall cross atop the new sanctuary now stands as a sign of God’s grace to the surrounding neighborhood. The construction project is a reaffirmation of St. Paul congregation’s commitment to strengthen the central core of Davenport along Brady Street and to reach out with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Both thoroughly modern and historically classic in design, the cross draws on some features of an orthodox cross. Read about the design.
The cross and the new sanctuary have been designed by Paul Barribeau of the Groth Design Group, Cedarburg, Wisconsin. The new worship center is scheduled for completion in Fall 2007.
