Good Friday Craft Event | April 2

On Good Friday, April 2, children are invited to an all-new craft event, Alive and Beautiful! All materials will be available starting at 3:45 p.m. in the Chapel Commons. The Good Friday Family Service for all is at 4:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Children will create butterflies, an Easter symbol of Jesus going from the cross to the tomb, and coming out three days later alive and beautiful.

The craft comes from the pages of our Lenten family devotional Magnify the Lord. With butterflies in hand, the children will learn what is means to complete the Lenten journey as we praise God together.

First Communion

Beginning Sunday, Feb. 28, our fourth-graders will begin preparation to receive their First Communion. The four-Sunday experience begins Sunday, Feb. 28, during the learning hour in the Seaside Studio of Faith Trek, 10:45-11:30 a.m.

Parents join on March 14 to help create stoles, and on March 21 for a “walk-through” with Pastor Marty during the learning hour.

The experience culminates on Maundy Thursday, April 1, at the 7 p.m. service when children receive Holy Communion for the first time with the congregation. Included is a 6 p.m. reception that evening in the Chapel Commons.
