Homeless students

The news of late has included facts about the number of homeless students in Iowa and here in the Iowa Quad Cities. Our partner schools both serve children who are homeless themselves or whose families are homeless. Please pray for kids in our community who do not have a place to live.

Butterfly Garden at Madison School

A St. Paul gardening crew, equipped with rakes and spades, transformed a corner of the Madison School playground into a beautiful butterfly garden. Here kids will grow in appreciation of natural beauty, learn to identify plants, and know that people care about them.

Housing ministry

In the block just south of St. Paul, the house at 2025 Main St. is home to several women with long-term mental illness. The congregation maintains the house and yard, and looks for other ways to support the residents.

The neighborhood ministry, in partnership with Vera French Housing Corporation, reaches out beautifully with the love and peace of Jesus Christ.

Hilltop Campus Village

Davenport’s Hilltop Campus Village is envisioning a revitalized central-city area with a vibrant business district, reinvestment in properties, and cohesive neighborhood.

The neighborhood – which includes St. Ambrose University, Palmer College of Chiropractic, and St. Paul Lutheran Church – covers the area between Ripley and Perry Streets, Lombard Street on the north, and 5th Street on the south, including the Harrison/Brady Streets corridor.

St. Paul joins others in a keen interest in strengthening the core of the city. Come, be part of revitalizing the neighborhood.

"Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal. We must pursue peaceful ends through peaceful means." ~Martin Luther King, Jr.
