Mount of Olives Housing Project

The St. Paul Endowment Fund for Mission Outreach has granted $2,500 for the ELCA Mount of Olives Housing Project to meet the housing shortage for Palestinian Christians in Jerusalem.

ELCA Presiding Bishop Mark Hanson calls the project “vital to the future of Jerusalem as a city of peace for Jews, Christians, and Muslims and as an example of reconciliation for the world.” Pastor Marty called the grant “something our Davenport church can do to reach out globally in partnership with the ELCA.”

The project, which will provide 84 housing units on land owned by Lutheran World Federation, will strengthen the dwindling Christian presence in Jerusalem.
