Groups for dealing with loss

Blue Christmas Service | Dec. 21, 6 p.m.

Whether dealing with the loss of a loved one, divorce, job loss, illness, or other grief, some simply cannot enter into the unbridled joy of the Christmas season. This service acknowledges this pain while recognizing that part of the reason for Jesus’ coming was to bring hope and comfort, to heal the sick, to seek the lost, to restore the broken and broken-hearted. Service will be held in the Sanctuary.

Growing through Divorce

A five-week series for men and women who are experiencing divorce or separation is offered in late winter each year. Come discover coping skills, forgiveness, faith, and hope for new life in the company of others.

The resource for the series, Rebuilding by Bruce Fisher and Robert Alberti, is available in the Book Corner.

Grief Support

Two hospital chaplains take the lead in a Grief Support Group, offered each winter. It’s for those who have lost a loved one through death.

Multiple Sclerosis Support

This group provides mutual support for individuals with MS and their families on the third Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Luther Loft. This second-floor classroom is easily accessed by the elevator.
