Associate Pastor

St. Paul Lutheran Church is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor to join the ministry team. This called position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive pastoral ministry to the St. Paul congregation while collaborating with staff colleagues on exciting congregational projects and initiatives, with particular focus on teaching, learning, and small groups. The associate pastor conducts general pastoral duties including worship leadership, baptisms, weddings, funerals, counseling, and hospital and home visits, while also developing and leading creative projects that emerge from personal initiative and congregational needs.

The ideal candidate brings strong interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated through effective teaching, preaching, and group facilitation. Key responsibilities include providing theological leadership to existing groups, overseeing teaching ministries, and providing oversight to small group ministries. This position requires strong organizational and planning skills, basic administrative knowledge, and a grounded theological perspective. The associate pastor works closely with the senior pastor and ministry team to expand teaching ministries through personal talent, creativity, and innovative design while maintaining a deep sense of congregational life and genuine love for people.
